ANNOUNCEMENT

=EQUALS=  is a math, science, programming, and critical thinking club for students, parents, teachers --- anyone!. The club is open to persons of all ages.  There is no cost to attend meetings.

Being a math club might suggest this is for kids good at math.  That's true - partially.  Despite having my master's degree, I'm really not that good at math.  This club is for people of all abilities, including those not-so-good at math!   We will look at math from an entirely different perspective - and actually do the programming - with topics ranging from fractals, traffic patterns, probability, earthquakes, designs, the Titanic, the Olympics, you name it!

BREAKING NEWS

and a sad follow-up

BENOIT MANDELBROT IS VERY INTERESTED IN THE PROJECT AND WILL MAKE AN APPEARANCE WHEN WE INVESTIGATE THE MANDELBROT SET!

It was with great sadness I learned of Mandelbrot's death this last Thursday.  When we last communicated, he had mentioned his poor health, but added "Health Permitting" to his note.  I had no idea he had pancreatic cancer.  Rest in peace, my friend, and Well Done.
